• Reading Keka Data: The Extension reads the attendance logs visible on your Keka portal strictly to calculate your shift progress, remaining hours, and averages.
• Local Processing: All mathematical calculations are performed locally on your device in real-time. This calculated data never leaves your computer.

The Extension utilizes Chrome's native chrome.storage.local API to save your personal widget settings. This ensures your preferences are remembered across browser sessions.

Data saved locally includes:

• Custom shift and break hour goals
• Half-day toggle states
• UI preferences (e.g., enabling/disabling notifications, 12-hour format)
• A temporary cache of your last calculated attendance times to ensure smooth operation when the widget is re-opened.

This data is stored solely on your device and is never uploaded. You can clear this data at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser's local extension data.

🔐 4. Permissions Justification

The Extension requests the following permissions for specific, functional reasons:

• host_permissions (*://*.keka.com/*): Required to allow the Extension to read the attendance logs specifically on your Keka portal and inject the dashboard widget into the page.
• storage: Required to save your custom settings locally.
• alarms: Required to run a background timer that updates the extension icon's badge with your remaining shift time.
• notifications: Required to display a local desktop alert when your calculated shift hours are complete.
• scripting & activeTab: Required to manually inject the dashboard UI when you click the extension icon.
